Patricia 是一个女孩的名字(也有极少用于男孩名)。起源于拉丁语,意思是“noble(高尚的); patrician(贵族;有教养的人)”,名字 Patrick 的女性名。罗马曾把人分为平民(plebeian)和贵族(patrician)两个阶级,贵族意味着高等级。维多利亚女王的一个孙女使用了这个名字从而使这个名字流行起来,今天在西班牙也是很受欢迎的名字。

英文原文:

Patricia as a girls' name (also used less commonly as boys' name Patricia) is pronounced pa-TRISH-ah. It is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Patricia is "noble; patrician". Feminine of Patrick. The Romans once were divided socially and politically into two major classes, the plebeians and the patricians. To be patrician meant one was highly ranked, an aristocrat. The name became popular when it was used for one of Queen Victoria's granddaughters. It is also popular nowadays in Spain.
